Many touristic domains appear in Chablais, between culture and  heritage, the fauna and the flora, sports and hobbies, or just: entertainment, art, and to top it all, our local products and the gastronomy, you will not be bored!

First, Culture and heritage.  Chablais has a great heritage so this region has multiple museums which can satisfy everybody ( historical museums, gallery of contemporary art, museums on some jobs like the museum of the fire brigade in Sciez).

There are many street shows, festivals ( Monjoux), concerts, dance or theatrical shows ... A different nature, the natural environment of Chablais is exceptional, in fact this region possesses a part with the leman lake and the other part with mountains. The landscapes are luxurious, Chablais is renowned  thanks to this sublime universe…Between discoveries and extreme sensations,  our region is providing a fun environment of unique sports:

On the water=  Pedal boat, boat, water-skiing

On the ground=Hiking, mountain biking

Or in the air=Parachute jumping, paragliding

As we said before, you won’t be bored at all! You can meet artists and craftsmen too , during a visit or an exhibition. Painting, sculpture, arts and crafts, are in your arrangement. Do not miss to taste these products which make our region a concentrate of flavour .  Between the Swiss and Savoyard countries, you will discover many Gastronomic tables. Between  raclette, fondue, tartiflette,  choices are there to treat your appetite !!

Large Companies in Chablais

 

At the industrial level, The dynamic zone is situated near the Leman lake and in particular around urban areas Thonon, Publier and Evian which collect 75 % of the industrial staff. On a national scale SMBs  form a big part of companies in Chablais. Despite no traditional trace in the history of this territory, the number of big industries is extremely small, or non-existent. We can see that there are 3 world-class companies which are implanted : “les Eaux Minérales d’Evian”, “Thalès” and “Les Papeteries du Léman”. “Les Eaux Minérales d’Evian” is a company which is producing 1,5 billion liters of water every year, Evian is  the most sold water in France as well in the United Kingdom for example. This water gets its name from the city where it is drawn (Evian-les-Bains), then it is brought at Amphion-les-Bains where it will be bottled (Packaging plastics are made in the same factory). With more than 900 employees « Les Eaux Minérales d'Evian » is the biggest employer in the Chablais. Thalès is a company specialized in the manufacturing of active electronic components (aerospace, defense, and information technologies ). This company is present in 56 countries. The chablaisien pole of this multinational is implanted in Thonon-les-Bains and employs some 450 employees.

'Les Papeteries du Léman' are specialized in the manufacturing of paper and cardboard. It’s a big company because it employs 283 employees. It is based in Publier and the company has been active for 18 years and its creation began in march 1995. 'Les Papeteries du Léman' export on the international stage various sorts of paper and innovate, moreover its production is done in adequacy with an idea of sustainable development (Just like the rest of it group: Bolloré)
