Winter tourism in the Chablais

Le Chablais is a region of  Haute-Savoie. It’s an area where there are heavy snowfalls, so you can enjoy various winter sports here.

Winter activities offered by the Chablais are numerous:

- many downhill ski resorts

- cross-country ski resorts

- places for tobogganing at the sides of these resorts

- hiking trails for all levels hiking or snowshoeing with shelters available to stay overnight

The most practiced activity is by far downhill skiing. Chablais has several resorts for skiing, snowboarding, Snowspad ( the snow bike ) ...

There are 7 different ski resorts in the Chablais. Among them, there are Thollon , Bernex, Les Brasses , Hirmentaz ... These stations are medium resorts, they contain between 30km and 50km accessible slopes. The average price of a day is about 20 € for an adult and for a week it’s about 105 € , not including the price or ski equipment or the price to stay overnight. The landscapes in these resorts are amazing such as a beautiful view of Lake Geneva from the station Thollon or a awesome view of the Mont Blanc from Hirmentaz .

At the bottom of these resorts, there are trails for cross-skiing (up to 40km of tracks) or place to toboggan for children or adults who don’t ski.

Just near there are also Morzine / Les Gets and Avoriaz  which are very big resorts. They attract many tourists. Indeed, the Alps sell on average the equivalent of 39 million of skipass for a day in a ski season.

It is also possible to practice snowshoeing or walking. This allows you to appreciate as it should be the nature and landscapes and enjoy the calm while doing sport.

Don’t forget that the Chablais remains close to Geneva or Chamonix which are two major tourist cities so women who are crazy about shopping can also have fun in their own way!

Don’t forget either that the biggest french or swiss downhill slopes are an hour or two drive away, for great fans!
